Ben Pasquith
Director of Golf
 

Ben Pasquith is entering his fourth year at Fred Smith Company Sports Club in 2012-13. Pasquith previously served as Director of Membership Development and Head Professional at Eagle Ridge.

In his current role, Pasquith primarily responsible for managing the golf operations for all four Golf Courses, direct tournament operations for both member and outside tournaments, oversee the food and beverage operations and assist with memberships.

Prior to arriving at FSC, Pasquith was Assistant Golf Professional at Jefferson Golf and Country Club, Blacklick, OH and Assistant Golf Professional at Wildcat Cliffs Country Club, Highlands, NC.

A native of Asheboro, NC, Pasquith graduated from Campbell University in 2009 with a B.A. in Business Administration and degree in Professional Golf Management.

Tye Butler
Head Golf Professional- Riverwood

Tye Butler is entering his third year at Fred Smith Company Sports Club in 2012-13, and his first year as the Head Golf Professional. Butler previously served as second assistant at Eagle Ridge Golf Club and First Assistant at Riverwood Golf Club.

A native from Big Spring, TX, Butler entered in the Golf Industry in 2007 as the Junior Golf Coordinator at Hidden Oaks Golf Course in Granbury, TX. In 2008, he was the First Assistant and Junior Golf Coordinator at Keeton Park Golf Course in Dallas. During his time in Dallas, Butler was an instructor in The Tony Martinez School of Golf. Butler had the privilege of working under Tony Martinez, who is a North Texas PGA Jr. Golf Leader Award winner and is a U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 instructor.

Butler has been involved with several programs. Such as, Total Golf Adventures, The First Tee of Dallas, Golf in Schools, Get Golf Ready to help grow the game of golf.

Butler graduated from University of New Mexico, who also played quarter back for the Lobo football team. He played in two bowl games; Las Vegas Bowl in 2003 and Emerald Bowl in 2004.
Butler moved to North Carolina in 2010 and resides in Clayton.

Tad Wood
Head Golf Professional - Olde Liberty & Hedingham Golf Club

Tad Wood is entering his second year at Fred Smith Company Sports Club in 2012-13, serving as the Head Professional at Hedingham Golf Club and Olde Liberty Golf Club.

Wood entered the Golf business in 1991, working in off course golf shops selling clubs and doing club repair. He was as an assistant pro at Baywood Golf club in Fayetteville, NC and at Ryder Golf Course at Fort Bragg, and Head Professional at Hope Mills Golf Club in Hope Mills, NC.

Wood spent 13 years in the Army from 1988-2001 and nine years teaching Middle School science from 2002-2011.

The Roanoke Rapids, NC native, earned his B.S. in Biology from Fayetteville State University in 1997. He is currently working toward his PGA certification as a Class A Pro.

Randall Noonan
Director of Golfer Development

Randall Noonan is in his first year with Fred Smith Company Sports clubs in 2012-13 as Director of Golfer Development.

In his current role, Noonan runs the summer junior clinics. He began private lessons for members, juniors and local players.

A native of Orlando, FL, Noonan was the Head Golf Professional at Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, FL for 10 years. Mission Inn Resort is recognized for hosting many NCAA National and Regional Championship tournaments and national and state wide junior tour tournaments. It is also currently the home of the Gary Gilchrist Golf academy.

During Noonans tenure as Head Golf Professional at Mission Inn Resort, he was recognized by Lake County as the number one Head Golf Professional for teaching junior golfers and disabled Players.
While in Florida, Noonan also competed in the Moonlight Pro Am Tour.

Noonan currently resides in Clayton, N.C.

Scott Cartledge
Golf Professional at Eagle Ridge Golf Club

Scott Cartledge is entering his third year at Fred Smith Company Sports in 2012-13 as Golf Professional at Eagle Ridge Golf Club.

Cartledge, a native of Fuquay-Varina, NC, graduated from Campbell University in 2012 earning his B.A. in Business Administration and PGA Golf Management.

Cartledge was a Golf Shop Assistant at Knights Play Golf Center, an Golf Intern at Wintergreen Resort, Club sales and Repair at Golf Galaxy and an Assistant  Golf Professional at Eagle Ridge Golf Club.

Doug "Dudley" Raynor
Head Superintendent

Doug Raynor or “Dudley” is in his 14th year at Fred Smith Company Sports Club in 2012-13, serving as the Head Superintendent for Riverwood, Eagle Ridge, Hedingham and Olde Liberty.
Raynor started his career working for the Jack Nicholas organization famed course, Grand Cypress in Orlando, FL from 1983-85. He then had the opportunity to work for the PGA organization, building Tournament Players Course (TPC) from 1985-88.

After his time with the PGA, Raynor attended the internationally renowned Penn State Turfgrass Program. After graduation he continued renovating courses with builder and architect, David Postlethwaite, whom Raynor worked with during his time with the PGA.

Raynor was the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent at Locust Hill Country Club in Rochester, NY from 1995-98. During his time at Locust Hill, he experienced three LPGA events, which is currently called “Wegmans LPGA Championship.”

Raynor was brought to FSC by David Postlethwaite, who was building Riverwood Golf Course. Raynor helped grow and open Riverwood Golf Course in spring of 1997. His previous roles also consisted of overseeing Hedingham maintenance crews and the original FSC lawn maintenance crew.

Raynor currently resides in Clayton, NC with his wife Diana.

David Wallace
Superintendent at Riverwood Golf Club

David Wallace is in his second year at Fred Smith Company Sports Club in 2012-13, as Superintendent at Riverwood Golf Club. In his first year, Wallace headed the Greens renovation at Riverwood Golf Course.

A native of Smithfield, NC, Wallace graduated from Wayne Community College with an Associate in Applied Science. He was awarded North Carolina Turf-Grass student of the year in 2010.

Wallace is a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) and Turfgrass Council of North Carolina (TCNC) as well as a certified Commercial Grounds Pesticide applicator.

Charles Campbell
Superintendent at Hedingham Golf Club

Charles Campbell is in his fifth year at Fred Smith Company Sports Club in 2012- 2013, as Superintendent at Hedingham Golf Club.  

Before moving to his current position, Campbell served as Assistant Superintendent at Riverwood Golf Club from 2005-07.

Campbell headed the Greens conversion from Bentgrass to Champion Bermuda grass at Hedingham Golf Club in 2011.

Prior to arriving at FSC, Campbell was the Assistant Superintendent at River Ridge Golf Club.
Campbell graduated from North Carolina State University in 2004 with a B.S. in Agronomy-Turfgrass concentration.

Jaron Holmes
Superintendent at Eagle RidgeGolf Club

Jaron Holmes is in his second year at Fred Smith Company Sports Club in 2012-2013 as Superintendent at Eagle Ridge Golf Club.

A native of Saint Joseph, MI, Holmes grew up working in construction and landscape for his family business, but found his niche in Turfgrass.

Holmes has a vast range of experience having spent 15 years working at various Golf Clubs as Cart Attendant, Caddie, Assistant Golf Professional, Maintenance Crew and Assistant Superintendent.

Holmes currently resides in Holly Springs with his wife Courtney and two children, J.D. (7) and Allyson (2).
